Start with the basics


IMG_3631It is common knowledge that core strength is a key element to good swimming, running and cycling form.  Funny enough, one of the most common excuses for bad form I hear from my athletes are “I have no core strength”.  Strangely, everyone seems to think core strength just miraculously appear… Hmmm. Ja, no, not quite…

Since the age of miracles are long gone, I launched an intervention.  I started a 30 planking challenge with my group of athletes. Add a couple of deck-ups after each swim set and my swimmers are off to a great start.

I can’t wait to see the improvements over the next month… now, how to expand this to my runners and cyclists.
